UPCOMING SCHEDULE
Expectations & Program Standards
BLACKHAWKS
01 Vision & Athletic Excellence
02 Team Protocol & Culture
The Bloomfield Hills Black Hawks Girls Flag Football program is built to be a place where athletes can try something new, grow fast, and love coming to practice. Our vision for this inaugural season is simple: create a fun, safe, and competitive environment where every player—whether brand new or experienced—can develop real skills and real confidence.
We believe what you do on the field and how you carry yourself in the classroom go together. We’ll keep standards high, but we’ll meet you where you are and help you grow step by step. You’ll be coached, supported, and challenged in a positive way—because this season isn’t just about winning games, it’s about helping every girl build confidence and feel proud of who she becomes through this sport.
We take pride in running an organized, high-energy program—without taking ourselves too seriously. We’ll teach the game step-by-step, and we’ll ask everyone to bring a great attitude, show up ready to learn, and support their teammates.
Here’s what “being a Black Hawk” looks like:
-
Be present and committed: consistent attendance matters because that’s how we improve together.
-
Be coachable: ask questions, try new things, and embrace mistakes as part of learning.
-
Be a great teammate: encourage each other, celebrate progress, and compete with respect.
-
Stay connected: we’ll use a team communication hub for updates so everyone stays in the loop.
Our culture will be fun, fast, and supportive—with just the right amount of edge. We’ll play hard, learn a lot, and build something special together in year one.

MEET YOUR COACH
Hi, I’m Bryan Ledin, and I’m truly honored to coach your Black Hawks Girls Flag Football team this season. I live in West Bloomfield with my wife Kathy, our son Brayden (a former QB at St. Mary’s who now plays at Kalamazoo College), and our giant, lovable Newfoundland, Boon.
I’ve been coaching and competing in flag football for over two decades, and I’ve seen how much confidence this sport can build, especially for athletes trying it for the first time. This program will be organized, super fun, and beginner-friendly.
My goal is for every player to feel supported, learn the game step-by-step, and build real confidence, whether you’re brand new or have played before.
We’re going to work hard, have fun, and build something special together. And if you’re unsure or a little nervous, you’re not alone. Trying something new can feel that way. Just show up. We’ll learn it together. We’ve got this.
